Introduction

I specialise in English Language, English Literature, Psychology, and 11+ preparation, and I also teach English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) for international and bilingual students following the British curriculum. My tuition focuses on building confidence, strengthening exam technique, and ensuring students make sustained progress from KS2 through A-Level.

Qualifications

I hold an MSc in Forensic Psychological Studies and a BA (Hons) in Arts and Humanities (Creative Writing and English Language). I also hold a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Experience

Since 2018, I have supported students across KS2, GCSE and A-Level, preparing them for exams, consolidating key skills, and improving confidence in English and Psychology. I have delivered small-group GCSE English Literature tuition covering texts such as An Inspector Calls and Macbeth, and I support students with academic writing, essay structure, proofreading and revision planning.

I also provide academic support in related humanities subjects including Criminology, Sociology and History at GCSE, A-Level and degree level.

I tutor students preparing for selective school entrance exams (11+, 12+, 13+) and have successfully supported students gaining placements at selective schools including St Helen and St Katharine (Oxfordshire) and Calday Grange Grammar School (Wirral).

How tuition works

The first session focuses on identifying the student’s goals, needs and curriculum requirements. From this, I create a tailored plan to support progress. If a student finds a particular topic challenging, lessons will focus on this until they feel confident applying skills independently.

I offer flexibility where needed, including ad-hoc sessions depending on availability.
