A Brief Introduction
I am an experienced tutor. I tutor English language and literature. Also, I tutor the 11 plus and psychology. In addition, I cover other subjects such as Criminology, sociology and history.
My qualifications are an MSc in Forensic Psychological Studies and a BA (Hons) in Arts and Humanities (Creative Writing and English Language). Also, I have a level 5 diploma in teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Experience
In addition, I have successfully tutored students undertaking GCSE and A levels over the past 5 years. Furthermore, I have run group sessions in GCSE English Literature such as An Inspector Calls and Macbeth.
Moreover, I can support students to proofread documents and essays, including sentence structuring and grammar. Furthermore, I have supported students with exam revision techniques, including mock exams. In addition, I can tutor students undertaking various subjects at GCSE, A-level, college, and degree levels, covering humanities, sociology, and criminology.
Similarly, I tutor students for the 11+, 12+ and 13+. I have successfully helped students gain a placement in schools such as St Helen and St Katherine located in Oxfordshire and Calday Grange Grammar School in Wirral.
Additionally, I am qualified to teach English as a second language to children and adults including business English. In the first session, I aim to get to know the student and what their needs are. Then plan for their future sessions together, to help them further in their development and achieve their goals.
My Goals for students
If there is anything in the subject that the student finds challenging, I will focus on that until the student feels more confident with that part of their studies, enabling them to move forward. Above all, I want the student to come away with confidence and to be inspired that they can achieve their goal.
In addition, I offer Ad-hoc lessons, which means if the student needs a lesson at short notice or late at night, I can help.
