1. Statement of Commitment
Online-Tutoring.uk is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We recognise our responsibility to provide a safe, supportive, and secure online learning environment where students feel respected, protected, and able to learn confidently.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
This policy follows principles outlined in:

2. Scope
This policy applies to:
All online tuition sessions
One-to-one lessons
Small group masterclasses
Communication with students under 18
Online platforms used for teaching

Safeguarding includes:

Taking action to enable best outcomes

Online exploitation
5. Safer Working Practices
Tutors will:
Maintain professional boundaries at all times
Use approved teaching platforms only
Communicate through official business channels
Avoid private social media contact with students
Conduct lessons in appropriate professional environments
6. Online Learning Safety
Lessons take place via secure platforms (e.g., Zoom/Merithub).
Parents are encouraged to supervise younger students.
Sessions may be recorded where appropriate for safeguarding purposes.
Tutors must ensure appropriate backgrounds and conduct.
7. Reporting Safeguarding Concerns
If a concern arises:
Record factual information immediately.
Do not promise confidentiality.
Report to the DSL immediately.
DSL determines next action.
Where a child is at immediate risk:

8. Confidentiality
Information is shared only on a need-to-know basis to protect the child.
