A Brief Introduction

Qualified Primary Teacher | 25+ Years of Experience | UK and International Tutor

Why Choose Me?
As a fully qualified primary teacher with over 25 years of experience in both the UK and top-tier international schools, I specialise in helping children build confidence, master key skills, and achieve their potential. I offer tailored support in English and mathematics for students from Year 1 to Year 6, whether they need help catching up, preparing for exams, or excelling further in their studies.

My Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Education & Bachelor of Education (Australia): Fully qualified to teach primary school.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, UK): Recognized to teach across primary schools in the UK.
  • TEFL Certification: Specialized in supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Teaching Experience
For over two decades, I have worked at inner-city UK schools, as well as leading international schools such as Dulwich College Shanghai, Dulwich College Yangon, and Bangkok Patana School, teaching Year 1 through Year 6. My leadership roles in mathematics, assessment, and curriculum development mean I have a deep understanding of the UK National Curriculum and can tailor lessons to meet a child’s unique needs. I have extensive experience working with children who need additional support, including those with EAL or AEN.

My Teaching Approach
I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and engaged. My lessons are:

  • Personalised: Every session is planned to match your child’s specific learning needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Interactive: I use discussions, real-life resources, and practical activities to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
  • Confidence-Building: My approach encourages children to ask questions, embrace challenges, and feel proud of their progress.
  • Technology-Enhanced: I integrate ICT and online tools to keep sessions fun and engaging.

Specialist Areas

  • English (reading, writing, comprehension) and mathematics (number, place value, calculations) (Year 1 to Year 6)
  • SATs preparation and exam revision
  • Support for EAL and AEN learners
  • Online tutoring for students in the UK and worldwide

Why Parents Trust Me
Parents value the progress their children make under my guidance and often highlight:

  • A Caring Approach: I focus on building strong, positive relationships with every child I teach.
  • Proven Results: My students consistently show improvement in their skills and test outcomes.
  • Clear Communication: I keep parents informed, sharing feedback and celebrating successes.

More About Me
Beyond teaching, I enjoy swimming, travelling, cooking, and creative projects like arts and crafts or DIY. These hobbies keep me energised and bring a fresh perspective to my lessons. If you’re looking for an experienced, friendly, and passionate tutor who will bring out the best in your child, I’d love to help.
