This creative writing course has been developed for GCSE students. During the creative writing classes, students will develop the skills to tackle the writing section of the exam paper. Each student will explore how to use pictures to create fiction and descriptive stories. In addition, students will be shown how to write fiction and narrative based stories. Furthermore, they will learn how to write letters and speeches so that they are able to write effectively during the exam.
In the first lesson, students will explore how to create and develop a plan based on a picture. Once the student has created their plan, they will focus on writing on writing a descriptive piece using the picture as a focal point.
Following on from last week, students will focus on creating a plan to write a short story. They will learn how to turn sentences from tell to show. Also, student will be given techniques on how to improve their writing a short time within an exam.
Moving on, the students will look at how to set out and write a formal letter. In addition, students will develop and use fiction and narrative on how to write newspaper articles.
In this final week, students will put all the skills together and learn how to write a speech. Lastly, the course will go over writing in a short time for the exam.
